How Does Solar Power Work?
What are solar panels and how do they work?
Solar panels are devices that convert sunlight into electricity using photovoltaic (PV) cells made of silicon. When sunlight hits these cells, it creates an electric current that flows through an inverter to convert it into usable electricity for your home. This clean energy can power your appliances, lights, and electronics just like traditional grid electricity.
How long do solar panels last and what maintenance do they require?
Solar panels typically last 25-30 years with minimal maintenance. Most come with 20-25 year warranties and only require occasional cleaning and annual inspections. There are no moving parts to break, making them extremely reliable once installed.
What happens if my solar panels produce more electricity than I use?
Excess energy is fed back into the grid through net metering, earning you credits on your utility bill. During sunny days when your panels produce more than you consume, you build up credits that offset electricity costs during nighttime or cloudy periods.
How long does it take for a solar installation?
For a typical residential solar installation, we allow around two days to complete the work. This timeframe is largely dictated by the size and layout of the property. For commercial solar installations, the timeline can vary more significantly depending on the size and complexity of the commercial premises. Our team will work closely with you to plan and deliver the installation in the most efficient, cost-effective, and safe manner possible, ensuring minimal disruption to your home or business.
